История

Гражданская война принесла Красной Армии многие трофеи, среди которых оказались белогвардейские танки французского производства. С 1925 года этим и занялись первые советские конструкторы. Опыт производства танка «Рено-Русский», конечно, учитывался. К тому же советско-польская война принесла ещё один трофей, который помог создать танк Т-18. Это была итальянская бронированная машина — FIAT-3000. И этот танк был изучен в ходе составления технической документации на танк Т-18, лучшие его качества были заимствованы. Тем не менее прошедшие испытания на полигоне прототипов выявляли довольно большое количество всяческих недостатков, особенно это касалось ходовой части и двигателя. Так, Т-16 был забракован, недостатки учтены, и в 1927 году появилась гораздо более удачная модификация — танк Т-18.

Броня

Броня крепка не была, она хорошо защищала от пуль (средний винтовочный калибр) и от мелких осколков, поскольку и разрабатывалась защита танка по принципу противопульному. Форму брони танки сопровождения в то время имели примерно одинаковую: острую ступенчатую, безо всяких закруглений. Бронированный корпус состоял из листовой стали шестнадцати миллиметров толщиной, все листы были склёпаны и между собой, и с каркасом.

На корме бронелисты крепились на каркас просто болтами, поэтому их легко можно было снять, если нужно. Дно танка и его крыша были укреплены вдвое слабее — там использовались листовая сталь менее восьми миллиметров толщиной. Башня имела форму почти правильного шестиугольника. С 1930 года предусматривалась ниша на корме — для радиостанции. Формирующие башню листы брони составляли шестнадцать миллиметров, но крыша к авиаударам приспособлена не была — на неё шла сталь не более четырёх миллиметров. Лобовая часть башни имела амбразуры, чтобы установить вооружение. Шариковая опора позволяла башне поворачиваться, но делать это можно было только вручную, чем и занимался командир танка.

Usage in battles

Speed and altitude are your best friends when flying the T18B-1, as you must keep both up in order to ensure your survival. You may be fast, but you are not invincible, as there are many aircraft at the BR that will easily catch you such as the P-47D, P-61, Bf 109 F-4 and the I-185 twins. However, you can easily turn the tables on your would-be attackers by forcing them to stall then shred them with your impressive forward armament.

Alternatively, you can take the offensive route by employing a heavy fighter flying style and hunt down enemy bombers. You can mainly do this as a result of your bomber air spawn, but you must be careful to avoid enemy interceptors. One must take care not to expend too much ammunition on a single target, so in order to avoid doing so, they must aim for the critical components of the enemy bomber (wings, engines or tail) if they can’t force a head-on.

Lastly, the T18B can be used as a reasonably effective ground attacker thanks to its immense loadout options. It is not recommended to use the bomb loadouts that mount the extra m/42 bombs when employing this play style unless they are skilled with aiming their bombs, as the m/42 bombs have a very small explosion radius and have to be directly on target to nab a kill. Your ideal loadouts should be either the 3 x m/40 bombs, 3 x m/40 + 8 x m/49A rockets, or 2 x m/50 bombs + 8 x m/49A rockets for some overkill, as the m/50 bombs have a very high effective destruction radius of 18 meters, although the pilot should take care that they don’t end up exploding themselves (also known as a «significant emotional event»).

Your research path should be tailored to the role you wish to employ the T18B in. For the traditional bomber, it is important to research payload first as the stock payload is a pitiful 18 x 50 kg bombs. For the heavy fighter/interceptor, the offensive cannon upgrades are of great importance followed by flight performance upgrades. Ground attacker should be a mix of the two, as it is important for a ground-pounder to have both speed and payload.

Pros and cons

• Highly effective air brakes make landing and rearmament much easier

• Has access to two of the massive Swedish m/50 bombs

• Despite only having one MG for defence, the MG itself is excellent

Кроме того, было и вспомогательное вооружение, которым служил пулемёт Фёдорова калибра 6,6 миллиметров. Обычно спаривались два пулемёта и устанавливались в свободную от пушки грань башни. К ним полагались коробчатые магазины, в которых находились 1800 патронов. Уже после 1935 года пулемёты на Т-18 заменили на ДТ-29 (калибр 7,62). Сначала также спаренные, затем по одному. В боекомплекте теперь было 2016 патронов в тридцати двух дисках.

Почему именно Т-18?

В первые годы после Гражданской войны Советская Россия, как уже было сказано, преодолевала ужасающую разруху, ей явно было не до производства танков. Как мы помним, дело восстановления и развития народного хозяйства шло споро, поэтому уже к середине двадцатых годов речь зашла о модернизации армейского вооружения. В 1926 году, как мы уже знаем, была принята программа танкостроения, рассчитанная на три года.

Программой предусматривалось как план-минимум организация учебной роты и танкового батальона с пехотными танками, а также создание роты и батальона, оснащённых танкетками. Расчёты требовали от производителей по сто двенадцать танков каждого типа. И после совещания командования Красной Армии, ГУВП и ОАТ (Орудийно-арсенальный трест) было утверждено массовое производство вовсе не тяжёлых, малоподвижных и довольно слабо вооружённых FT-17, к тому же излишне дорогих. Победил лёгкий танк сопровождения пехоты.

Flight performance

The T18B-1 is an exceptionally fast aircraft at its rank, zooming past its contemporary bombers and reaching into fighter territory, able to reach an excellent 595 km/h (370 mph) in RB and a staggering 619 km/h (385 mph) in AB. Its high speed and reasonable armament platform of 2 x 20 mm cannons + 1 x 13.2 mm machine gun allows it to be a respectable multi-role aircraft that can take on almost any combat situation you throw at it. One might think that the high performance comes at the cost of payload, as traditional with the Schnellbomber type of bomber, But this is not the case with the T18B, as it carries more than enough ordinance to either heavily damage a base (AB) or destroy a few (RB).

T18 HMC

Первая сравнительно современная САУ появилась в США только в 1939 году. 75-мм самоходная гаубица T3 (англ. 75mm Howitzer Motor Carriage T3) использовала значительно более совершенное шасси лёгкого танка M1, а её вооружение состояло из 75-мм лёгкой гаубицы M1, установленной в полностью закрытой рубке и 7,62-мм пулемёта, размещённого в маленькой башенке. Был построен один прототип T3, однако по результатам испытаний на вооружение она не была принята из-за слишком тесной рубки. Однако сама компоновка была сочтена перспективной и работы в этом направлении продолжились. С принятием на вооружение в июне 1940 года танка M3, дальнейшие работы велись на его базе.

С октября 1941 по май 1942 велись работы по созданию самоходной гаубицы на базе шасси легкого танка М3 «Stuart». Проект получил обозначение Т18. Т18 изначально разрабатывалась как САУ поддержки, вооруженная 75-мм гаубицей, располагавшейся в просторной, полностью закрытой бронированной рубке. Однако проект был заброшен из-за появления более совершенной САУ М8 на базе танка М5.

Notes:

• Recommended load is 24 (+40) to keep the hull empty of ammo.
• 1st and 2nd ammo racks are ready racks, and takes priority in being filled at the beginning of the battle, then fills 5, 4, then 3.
• Full reload speed will be realized as long as ammo exists in either ready rack. If both ready racks are empty, a penalty to reload speed will occur.

Про деньги

«Рено-Русский», например, стоил тогда тридцать шесть тысяч рублей, а нужно было потратить только восемнадцать тысяч на один танк, поскольку общая сумма трат не должна была превысить пять миллионов рублей. Здесь следует пояснить, что в те годы рубль стоил столько же, сколько при царе. Это значит, данная сумма сегодня была бы равна примерно миллиону долларов. То есть трёхлетняя программа двадцатых годов прошлого века с таким финансовым напряжением бы не справилась.

Есть разница и в стоимости сегодняшних танков относительно машин начала прошлого века. Наш Т-90, к примеру, армия закупает за семьдесят миллионов рублей каждый экземпляр. Американский «Абрамс» в зависимости от модификации стоит от 4,3 миллиона долларов. Однако и оснащение Т-18 никак нельзя сравнивать с Т-90. Свою роль в развитии Красной Армии первые советские танки сыграли, можно сказать, отлично.

Монтаж и эксплуатация

Первые танки и вся их конструкция в основе своей были, конечно же, заимствованы у зарубежных производителей. Схема компоновки была классической для того времени. Отделение моторное и трансмиссионное находилось на корме корпуса, а в среднем, переднем отделениях корпуса и в башне помещались управление танком и его вооружение.

Советский танк Т-18 не требовал многочисленного экипажа, в бою с ним справлялись два человека: командир — он же башенный стрелок — и механик-водитель. Последний находился по центру корпуса, а командир-стрелок — в корпусе и башне, позади водителя. Посадка и высадка производилась через грибовидный люк-колпак, возвышающийся над башней, а механик мог пользоваться и двустворчатым люком, который находился на корпусе впереди.

Survivability and armour

The T18E2 is a heavy armoured car that favours protection over the high mobility common to the class. The T18E2’s hull is solidly protected from heavy machine guns and artillery shrapnel, but most opponents at this battle rating can penetrate it without trouble. Despite sufficient armour to protect the crew, the transmission located under the floor armour is very susceptible to damage from artillery.

The vehicle carries a full complement of 5 crew members. A driver and MG gunner sit together in the forward driving compartment, while the Gunner, Loader, and Commander sit in close proximity in the rather small turret in the fighting compartment. Altogether, a well placed APHE round can be enough to knock out all of the crew members in the vehicle but may survive multiple solid shots of AP or APCR rounds, especially from the side. However, the crew is positioned deceptively high off the ground above an armoured floor, and so shots to the very lower glacis frequently only damage the transmission.

Notes:

• Floor armour is only 10 mm thick, though the suspension mounting found between each pair of wheels is reinforced with 13 mm of armour underneath the vehicle.
• Turret ring armour is 25 mm thick.
• Structural steel boxes and drums of 5 mm thick dot the exterior of the car, which can add some precious little armour thickness.
• Wheels are 10 mm thick.

In RB/SB mode, the T18E2 is a very sluggish vehicle, especially compared to other armoured cars. Despite its listed top speed of 80 km/h (50 mph), most drivers will only see up to 65 km/h (40 mph) on paved roads and 39 km/h (24 mph) cross country depending on terrain. Even so, with its low power to weight ratio of 10.41 hp/ton (in comparison to 14.44 hp/ton of the M3 Lee), it takes driving relatively straight for a long while for it to reach these speeds. Best stick to paved roads when you can if you need to be somewhere quick and avoid muddy terrain altogether like that found at White Rock Fortress, where mud can drag your speed down to as low as 8 km/h (5 mph), leaving you vulnerable if trying to cross potential fire zones quickly.

The T18E2 also possesses a very high top reverse speed of -36 km/h (-20 mph), though again because of its low acceleration, will take some time to possibly reach this. However, in comparison to other tanks, the reverse acceleration and eventual speed is still acceptable for quick retreats. This can even mitigate the disadvantage that the vehicle requires a large turn radius to turn around.

Usage in battles

Belt choice is critical for this plane. These belts are recommended:

• 20 mm cannon — Use «Air targets», as the ground targets belt won’t make a difference when attacking light ground vehicles. This belt will be good for bomber hunting
• 13 mm MG — «Air targets» is a good belt, because it contains a lot of tracer and high-explosive rounds, good for air and ground targets
• 57 mm tankbuster — Use «Ground targets», as it has VERY high pennetration, and the gun shouldn’t really be used against air targets
• 13 mm turret — Use «Universal», it is good for knocking common enemies out of the sky, like the A6Ms, Yaks, and Bf 109s.

Usage in battles

Though this is an armoured car, this is best played as a tank destroyer, as the gun is arguably the best feature on this tank. Even with your sluggish speeds, you should be able to keep up with most medium tanks and provide support to them, letting them soak up damage while you dish out it back with your great gun.

Pros and cons

Pros:

• Quick firing 57 mm cannon that can fire as quick as 4 seconds with a highly trained crew

• Armor will protect it from heavy machine guns from nearly any angle

Cons:

• Transmission is easily knocked out by artillery shrapnel

Модельный ряд

Модельный ряд мини тракторов Кентавр Т18 имеет 4 модели. Их технические характеристики приведены в таблице ниже.

1. Модель Кентавр Т 18 Е имеет улучшенные ремни привода. Также в ней установлен плавающий режим гидропривода для навесного оборудования. При таком положении навеска повторяет рельеф местности, и глубина обработки везде одинакова;
2. При создании модели Д учитывались пожелания клиентов и международные стандарты. Кентавр Т 18 Д имеет улучшенную раму и возможность изменения межколесного расстояния;
3. На Т 18 В предусмотрена возможность использования не только заднего, но и переднего навесного оборудования.
4. Кентавр Т 18 С является наиболее качественной и доработанной моделью. При ее создании учли минусы предыдущих мини тракторов и исправили их, создали органичный дизайн, повысили ресурс эксплуатации ременной и цепной передачи, а также модернизировали натяжные ролики.

Базовая комплектация

В базовой комплектации Кентавр поступает с завода в уже собранном виде. К изделию идет инструкция и гарантия на 12 месяцев. Дополнительно может поставляется в комплекте плуг и активная фреза для обработки земли.

В первом бою

Лёгкие танки Т-18 поступили в Красную Армию уже в 1928 году, доукомплектовывая стрелковые подразделения армий различных военных округов. Боевым крещением новой машине стал конфликт на КВЖД. В ноябре 1929 года началась Мишаньфусская наступательная операция, где нашу пехоту поддерживали сразу десять танков Т-18. Бою предшествовал изнурительный марш, боекомплектом танки нормально обеспечить не удалось, даже карт местности у бойцов не было.

Тем не менее позиции китайцев были атакованы, и ни один танк Т-18 потерян не был, хотя наступательное движение в целом удачи красной Армии не принесло. Но для танка эти бои стали отличной проверкой, где вскрылись не только достоинства, но и недостатки этой машины. Главными пороками лёгкого танка Т-18 были названы низкая скорость передвижения и очень незначительная огневая мощь. Но в общей сложности и танки, и танкисты зарекомендавали себя хорошо, и конфликт на КВЖД представил тому доказательства.

Великая Отечественная

Крайне изношенные и откровенно устаревшие танки Т-18 встретили Великую Отечественную войну. Малая часть их поступила на вооружение в танковые части, остальные были отданы укрепрайонам. Панцерваффе сурово поступали в приграничных боях с почти беззащитными советскими танками. В первые же месяцы войны практически все Т-18 были сожжены.

Последние упоминания о применении их в бою датируются декабрём 1941 года, когда они обороняли Москву: Сто пятидесятая танковая бригада располагала девятью машинами Т-18. Старые добрые лёгкие танки до конца пятидесятых служили как стационарные огневые точки и в качестве фортификационных сооружений на Дальнем Востоке. Иногда применялись только их башни.
